iPhone 6 smashes pre-order records

For all the abuse Apple is taking from the Android / Samsung community, this is impressive.

Samsung won't be liking this... also, this gives a positive indication to have POS adapting to NFC.

I think that extends to the average smartphone user - they simply buy the phone they like as long as it satisfies their needs. It is only a small unfortunately vocal minority who froth at the mouth about such things. Maybe some of them are able to extract maximum output from their devices, maybe they're just bored basement dwelling geeks.

How did you avoid them for so long?

The day after the 6 was announced I was chatting to one of the ladies at the office (high LSM, intelligent, works in the mobile industry):

Me: So did you watch the event last night?
Her: No but I heard about the iPhone 6, can't wait to get it!
Me: But you got a 5S not even 4 months ago, and you do realise...
Her: Stop. It's the new iPhone, of course I'll be getting it, I don't care if Android is better in this or that or whatever way, it'll never be an iPhone.

1) it's her money and it's none of your business what she spends it on
2) it sounds like she's beyond irritated at your constantly trying to 'inform' her of the ways in which Android is superior.
