Firstly it's very far from 4K.
Secondly we are at the point where I'm certain a number of testers would fail blind testing selectice photos from mobile devices compared to DSLR.
Interesting times.
I agree with you 100% but I think that is due to the fact that a DSLR captures 'naked' photos where as smartphones lately auto enhance and adjust many things before saving the picture that in return do give an aesthetically more beautiful picture.
But from a technical point of view it will not give you a better picture. I stand by my earlier point.
I would just like to add that the iPhone - hence its larger sensor - has a big low light advantage. That is one aspect where they have always shined.
