I have a question.

My current contract on Vodacom Smart S (iPhone 5S) is up and I wanna move to an iPhone 6S Plus. I want to pay a lower monthly overall amount, is it possible to pay-in part of the device cost to reduce the monthly cost?

Yes it is. Check out the Vodacom deals sticky under the cellular section. IIRC, it's in there. If not, a store will quote you.

I'm thinking of moving from my 6+ to a 6S+... Is the move worth the extra 50% cost?

iOS on a 6 behaves almost identically on a s.

The s is an improvement in just about every aspect re the hardware. So with that in mind I would say yes. Go s.

Why not then just wait for the 8, 9 or 10?

Because (judging by the past) the upgrade from a 5S to a 6 was a lot more significant than a 5 to 5S for example. If I'm spending, should I not just spend on the more significant change?

Yes :) I moved to a Note 5 and now a 6s Plus and it's amazing.

One thing to note is that it's noticeable heavier than the 6 Plus (to me at least)

Only cosmetically, the s upgrade has always been the performance upgrade, if you only care about looks then the non s cycle is for you, if you are more interested in performance and specs, then it's the s cycle.

I would wait for the 7.

Is your 6 so slow that you need to drop 6k on upgrading to practically the same thing? I have been led to believe that iPhones do not slow down at all.

What else is there?

Force touch is cool yes and useful but I probably use it once or twice a week when I remember to. Not many apps use it either. Perhaps by the launch of the 7 it will be mainstream.

Camera? The resident expert believes it to be inferior so that that as you want. I find it very good but ask yourself, will you really see the difference in pictures?

You're misinterpreting "iPhones do not slow down at all", obviously. My 5 and 5s both show signs of slowing down. However they are still very fast, and smooth. It would be better to say "iPhones stay faster for longer" [than Android].

The camera since the 6 is a disappointment, but it's still very good. Most people wouldn't see a difference.

If money is not such an issue, I would definitely go with a 6s from a 6. It's that good.

Well that is the crux of the matter isn't it and we all have different ideas of how many Rs a new feature or two on a phone is worth. If money is not an issue (i.e. high net worth) then by all means OP, upgrade.

If we consider that Apple products hold their value so well, an upgrade, for all the improvements on the device we use most, is only a couple thousand.

Most people who don't use Apple forget that.

Has anyone else experienced QC issues with their iPhone 6s Plus? I am on my 4th one for various screen and lag issues. The one I have now is perfect except for the very feint blemish on the lower left corner above the shift key. If you take a look at macrumors it seems to be a common occurrence and many are experiencing this

Blemish on the screen itself?
