Only cosmetically, the s upgrade has always been the performance upgrade

That is just silly, every revision that comes out is a performance and feature upgrade. They are never going to release a phone that is as slow, or slower, than the previous one.

The only difference between the S and the other upgrade is that the S means that the form factor stays the same.

It's not silly, maybe go and research the various upgrades and see which ones were cosmetic and which ones were significant performance jumps.

They've been upgrading the processors on the non S variants for a while now, so each new variant are indeed faster.

The marquee standout feature of the non S derivatives have been form factor for the last two iterations, with changes in screen size. Doubt screen size is gonna change again though.

As someone that has owned an iPhone 1 since it launched in the US, I am well aware of the changes over the years and this stand by what I said.

IOS 9 is the worst OS ever released by Apple, way too many glitches on my 6s.

I'm finding the biggest performance improvements to be the additional ram, which like, it's about bloody time Apple, and the faster access memory. The 6s pretty much never slows down or chokes at all and it does feel like a worthwhile upgrade from the 6+. 3d touch is also cool when it's used but I think it's still early days for devs making good use of it. It's excellent in Photos.

9.2 or 9.2.1?

Also, this is for Dave.

Hoping for a 9.2 jailbreak soon. Can't wait to see how the 6s runs with Speed Intensifier installed!

Stock animations baked into iOS is an absolute deal breaker for me.

I can upgrade soon, currently on an iPhone 5s.

Sooo, either a 6s, or a 6s PLUS.

I would appreciate it if someone can post their real-world experiences with a 6/s PLUS? Especially the size.

Thanks!

I went from a 5S to the 6S Plus recently, best move I made.

I was against going for the plus at first, but don't regret it one bit, the extra screen space helps a lot and also you get around 2 days battery life.

Would definitely recommend the plus over the regular.

Size is a personal choice, you either get used to it or you hate it after a while. The battery life on the Plus models are better, so if you are currently needing to charge during the day then the Plus would be a better one to get.

Thanks for the feedback! I think it will be a shock to the system initially, but can see myself getting used to it.

Thanks - I was not aware that the Plus's battery lasts longer.

You happy with yours?

The iPhone 6s Plus is a beast. Very good battery life. Screen size is also a nice added bonus. I don't use any other device but my iPhone 6s Plus at home. I can do everything I need on it. So hardly ever use the laptop. When I initially got the 6 Plus over a year ago I sold my iPad soon after as it wasn't being used. If you have an iPad, expect it to get neglected . Now that I have the 6s Plus I have no need for any other device for my needs and the added ram and cpu bump is a welcome pleasure

Niiiiice! Just a pity iPad apps don't run on the Plus - THAT would have really sealed the deal! Still think I just need to get the Plus :)
