Apple always do an event in September when they announce the new iPhones and other products. During the event they also announce the availability date.

This has been going on forever.

Apple always have an event around mid September and then release date is normally last week of September in US and other countries in the 1st release cycle.

Of course it's all speculation. Maybe Apple themselves haven't quite nailed down the date. Carrier signoffs aren't all in, apparently, and the channel is still being filled. So announce on a Tues or Weds, with orders immediately afterwards, or a day later, and first shipments at the end of the week? No-one knows for sure at this stage, probably not even Apple.

That's a rumor. Invites haven't gone out yet.

I don't know where you're getting your info from. Apple has NOT officially sent out the invites.

Please post a link as proof that invites were sent out ages ago and that the event has been confirmed by Apple as 7th September.

Does seem though that the entire industry is geared for 7 September which is probably why I figured it had gone out.

It's a bit late in the game to send invitations now though, so I guess we'll see.

Agreed, it is getting a bit late, although judging by Beta 8's performance I think Apple could use an extra week...

I reckon Apple will seed another beta this week with the invitations shortly after.

So if the leak is the real deal...(not saying it's not) it looks the design language for the iPhone 7 is not all that different from the 6-series iPhones.
