Don't let your ugly mug crack the screenI'm away for the weekend and my nano-sim hasn't been activated yet so still using my old phone. :/
But first impression is that it's a pretty great device. The display is fantastic, a definite step up from the one they used previously.
True tone also makes a big difference. On sites/apps with a lot of white the display comes into its own. The content reaching to the edges of the display everywhere is really immersive.
Notch is fine, too. Stopped noticing it after like 5 minutes.
The gestures are quite intuitive, especially the 'swipe up for home' one. Didn't take long at all to adjust.
Will test FaceID in sunlight when I get a chance.

Beautiful device. The chrome on the silver looks a bit cheap bit that's what the cover is for.

Apple really needs to allow at least custom icon packs. geesus...
And how difficult would it be to include 4 or 5 custom fonts to choose from??
Why?
To what purpose? What’s the usability advantage?
For some people it’s all about the “ooh, pretty pictures” and nothing about usability...
You are playing right into my point.
Apple doesn't care about pretty pictures and frivolous nonsense, only usability.

I was completely agreeing with your point. That comment is an example from those people that want “pretty pretty” that will jailbreak an iPhone or use an Android phone and have a handful of shortcuts around a picture that takes up the rest of the screen, no matter how inefficient the layout is.
Really?
It used to be like that but now you really need a manual to show you how to use it. 3d touching the flashlight for brightness, how wifi doesn't turn off etc. It isn't intuitive anymore.
