iPhone Accident!

Conundrum:
Insurance will only cover R6000 but they're selling an iPhone = R7500 which means I'll have to pay in R1500 + R500 for access bringing total to R2000(pay in)

Repair on the current is R2600.
Otherwise I'll have to change my handset.

Confused!!!

Eish. Dropped mine onto gravel a week ago while camping. I went cold, the phone was lying face down. I prepared myself for the worst as I picked it up and slowly turned it over, already cursing myself. It had not a scratch! It's still perfect :)

I was lucky, I guess. But very happy.

maybe u fainted wen u dropped it, and didnt see it getn run ovr by a truck:D.,
Either wait 3-4 mnths for the all cool iphone 4gs/5 or pick up a cheap contract(275pm) white iphone...

I tell you, it's a conspiracy. They made the phone from that easily-breakable glass on purpose, because they KNOW that people drop cellphones. You take the thing everywhere with you so it's often at the highest risk of.. everything. Being dropped, smashed, ridden over, stolen, dunked in water, splashed with water, shaken roughly, etc.

Instead of building something strong and durable that your customer will buy once and use for several years reliably, why not make something that breaks easily and you can charge them oodles of money to fix? And you're creating jobs, too, so you're not being THAT evil.

Grrrrrr. Fortunately I don't own an iPhone.

I agree with this.

It is however not limited to the iPhone.

The race is on for the bragging rights to have the thinnest smartphone out there, and most of them come with smooth polished surfaces which just beg you to drop it.

I got a "SPECK" protective cover on my iPhone4 and its really good in terms of protecting the phone.
has a "rubber lip" on the front so the phone screen looks like its sunken in the cover and the LIP protects it. so when u place it on the table (front of phone facing the table) the lip touches the table not the front glass on phone.

true all depends which angle it falls.

original iphone bumper does a good job in protecting the phone , adds very little bulk to the phone

My boss dropped his about 3 weeks ago and also broke the glass. He's had it sent in to replace the front glass.

Cost: R2000.

Note to self: Don't drop your iPhone.

I insured my iPhone with Virgin Money @ R79p/m for R10 500 after outsurance wanted to charge me almost R300.
