Good Afternoon Guys

I am looking for a company that provides iPhones lessons for dummies. From really basic stuff to some intermiadiate stuff nothing advanced required. Also looking for a company rather than a person as my parents are pretty paranoid (probably rightly so) but if the person is reputable that might work.

Thanks

What sort of lessons? How to use the phone, like how to make a phone call and send a WhatsApp message?

I use to think iDevices were for dummies, and you need training?

Now I’m totally converted and part of the Dummy crowd.

If you use Books (default on iPhone) look for the iPhone user guide.

Or start a conversation here and ask questions and we will answer.

Let us know what we can help with.

You would think the local distributors would have lessons - Apple in the US give lessons at all their stores

Sit with them & use it for a few hours.
Crack open a beer, ask them to phone you, send them a whatsapp.
Go outside, breathe.
Send them an sms, ask them to take a pic and whatsapp it to you.
Encourage them to just try things & remind them they can't break it.

?
I won't go there as people loose their sense of humour ;)

Heckling aside, a very valid topic. Suggestion: This should be for each smart phone user. It should not just cover basic usage, but also a bit about basic cyber security and maintenance thereof. What to do and what not to do. Your parents are quite right about being paranoid and they are not alone, NZ was recently in the news about this very topic with older people being scared. The conclusion was they are a bit wiser. Seeing things on a PC is suddenly very different on a smart phone.

I can avail myself to teach such almost to anyone. Not because I am an expert but because it is december and January will be the longest month ever so I want to be prepared.

The first lesson is free:

This means your caps lock is on. Turn it off

Rule 2 of iPhone: never admit Android is better.

Can someone do rule 3?

Rule 4: If your friends are using anything else other than iMessage then they are not your friends. Get new friends.

Just give them the phones and show them how to use WhatsApp. They will learn quickly after that and send you lots of photos. Or send them photos of the kids. Both my in laws recently got spart phones for the first time, android, which is not the most user friendly, and they are surviving it.

You could go try asking for help from the local school kids...
