Iphone hardware crashed

please if anyone can give me any advice, \
my iPhone 7 Hardware crashed last week Wednesday I was told it would cost upwards of R5000 to fix
so I bought a secondhand iPhone 8 online from the iPhone preowned website.
long story short I need to still use the Apple ID from that iPhone but I logged in to many times with the wrong password and I have to wait 12 days for apple to asses if im the original person trying to access the account. (im a freelancer I need my apple email, my gmail, my invoice app, Facebook, instagram )
now I cannot access WhatsApp or anything. can I create a new Apple ID temporarily with a new Apple ID. will this affect anything from my old apple account recovery?

im not going to lie this is a complete nightmare for me I need everything from that phone

I can imagine the horror:eek:

I once left my handbag in the change rooms in WW, nevermind the money, credit cards, drivers licence, leather handbag, leather purse I was crying for my phone.

Luckily a kind lady brought it to customer services.

unfortunately my problem is much more difficult!
 
I have been patiently waiting for 9 days for apple to review my Apple ID I have 3 more days left to go. has anyone been locked out of there Apple ID and have they let you reset your password? I did ask istore and they said most people are given access but some are denied(then I will have to call apple and explain myself again). im not sure how they will verify that I am who I say I am.

No need for that.

Just don’t be an idiot and set decent security questions so you can reset your own password.

Don’t even need that if you setup 2FA etc.
 
I was able to login to my Apple ID I got the sms like it said I would, even though there were so many comments on the the apple community saying people never got the sms and they were never able to access there account. I was very worried that would happen to me. I just have to wait to access my gmail that's giving me problems. phew. thanks for your help.

Thanks for letting us know, glad it worked out.
 
most comments online all say they were never contacted by apple to reset the password its very misleading
