I own an iPhone 6S Plus and the home button has stopped working completely. Anyone have an idea as to how much it would cost to fix and where I could take it? I am based in Joburg.

As a workaround I am using the AssistiveTouch virtual home button under accessibility, which is not ideal. I took the phone to WeFix and they quoted me R899 to replace the home button but they cant fix the fingerprint sensor, ideally I want to fix the fingerprint functionality as well.

Not possible, the touch id thing is paired to you're phones hardware. You'd need to approach apple to pair a new touch id button but that's like telling vw to install a sunroof on a gti you bought without a sunroof.

Yup, just been through that with the kid's screen replacement. I had to take it back a second time to get the old home button reinstalled.

Save money and go to Apple Doctor to have the Home Button replaced...and forego Touch ID.

Don't save money and go to iStore/Digicape and have your Home Button replaced with Touch ID for probably a grand or possibly even two, probably also without a phone for multiple days instead of walk in walk out.

2 of my friend's also have broken home buttons. I swear they let it break intentionally

Anyway.. They are fairly cheap.
If... You are willing to wait 2 months for shipping

Install it yourself. Just get the right screwdrivers, a hair dryer to get the screen off, and a pry tool

Thanks! I am a bit apprehensive about botching something up. Hope to use the phone for at lease another year :)
