iPhone is outdated: BlackBerry CEO

Well to be honest I have an iphone 5 and z10 right in front of me now and the BB ceo is correct, but it wont mean much until bb10 can get a truckload of high quality apps.Apple currently have the best apps no doubt but the bb interface is slicker and much more modern and powerful,I especially like the hub and swipe up to the menu feels more natural than pressing a button like android/ios.

The z10 is selling well but most BB fans are actually waiting for the q10 it seems and I can see that device outselling the z10 easily, once that happens the path becomes a highway for proper development on bb10.

BBM and a hardware keyboard are the q10's main weapons to compliment that slick powerful interface and it may just be what makes BB the third strong player in the market giving them the slight edge over nokia/wp8.
Funny you mention the hub because I find it cumbersome and convoluted. You can get lost in all the layers and the fact that it doesn't revert to default view makes it even worse. No separate message, email apps to pop into. BlackBerry always had the unified inbox but at least they had separate apps as well.

To me the hub is just a glorified notification centre with little to no real purpose. It sounds good on paper though.

Other than that the UX and OS, especially since it is a version 1 OS, is quite polished. They should get props for that.

Also, I wish they'd never have included the Android runtime. Better to get native devs.

Went into CellC yesterday and tried out the Z10 on display. Got stuck on a page showing a photo or something and couldn't figure out the required gesture or whatever arcane ritual I needed to get out of it. Got bored after a minute and mucked about with the iPhone5.

Rule1 for gestures: Gesture control is OPTIONAL. It is the touchscreen equivalent of keyboard shortcuts.

Using zephyr on my 5, gesture control at its best.

Didn't touch the home button once in the video below.
