Here's an interesting take, though I can't guarantee it's accuracy. Obviously relates to buying one without a contract.

If it's true, hands up all those who still want the iPhone. Or is that a bit difficult to do while holding all the cash you're going to need to get one?

yip i did i might regret it but vodacom have kept me waiting and secondly if there are shortages and there might be i could sell it for what i paid for if i dont dig it, but lets be honest here its not hte most expensive cell phone model on the market

Oh dear.

That Rudenator fellow is going to have a field day with all the iPhone fanbois who're going to have to settle for an HTC or Nokia. It's going to get ugly....

Luckily it was never in my price range anyway :)

luckily i will keep my htc as a back up. im an iphone fan but ill admit its not the greatest phone ever made. there never will be the greatest phone, because all the cellphone makers will design a better more sophisticated model, so we will never win

Lol I want to see the what happens after this hype dies down...
I see alot of disappointment people left stuck for 2 years!

THANK YOU! I had a huge fight with my brother about the price of this phone. i won - case of beer for me... see ya!

How do you know? AFAIK Vodacom - the only authorised dealer in SA - hasnt released their pricing yet. :o

Sorry for being rude, but they havent released ANYTHING yet - no iPhone (years behind even Guatamala), no Price, heck, they don't even have a date! nothing, nada, zip! they only have colourful little flyers with a picture that you can look at, and an automated e-mailing system trying to get customers into a VIP Club.

I'm sorry, but they have lost me as an iPhone Customer - the hype is already dying down, very quickly.:(

(This coming from a huge iPhone Dreamer, that would almost have paid anything!)

I'm just happy I bought the iPhone 2G at a good price, will be skipping the 3G since my iPhone is working better than ever after the latest update.

i can get a second hand 2G iPhone for R2000 - worth it?

Cash converters. but it's missing a 3, a 7 and a 9.
