iPhone Sleep Screen

I'm really loving my iPhone... however, apart from the usual problems (Bluetooth, copy and paste, MMS etc) there is one thing I'd really like to see. More information on the "sleep" screen (The one which says slide to unlock)

Information like:

1. Next cal event
2. New Mail - Sender
3. Local Weather
4. More detailed missed call and SMS info ( Time etc.... why display the actual message from the sms??)

Why not make this screen customisable.. (Facebook notifications)


It really annoys me that I have to unlock the phone and go into multiple menu items to get this basic information which could very easily be displayed on the "Sleep Screen"
 
One issue I have is my damn phone keeps redialing and when I look at the screen it shows I have been on a call and sometimes have to reset to stop the call. Wierd

surely that defeats the purpose of having a "locked" screen? info is fine, but when u can start launching apps without the screen being unlocked? sounds odd

I agree with you - although having tried it out it kinda makes sense in some circumstances - obviously don't add the phone icon or anything like that.

I still don't get it... perhaps I was raised to be practical.
iPhone costs more than a proper cellphone and a PS3 combined??? Having a Pc and a Laptop at home defeats the purpose of most of the iPhone features...
If your ONLY piece of technology is your iPhone...then its super practical. Otherwise, no.

Maybe Apple products just doesn't cater for me...

During last week's Macworld 2008 keynote, CEO Steve Jobs proudly announced that the iPhone topped smartphone sales by Palm, Nokia, and Motorola combined, right out of the gate.

So apple's first venture into the cell phone market was actually not too bad...

because secretly u want one, but being a linux fanboi (which is cool btw) it goes against everything u stand for supporting a corporate fascist regime like apple ;)

Jip. Its morrally wrong to support Apple. (They do achieve the impossible... but making something idiot-proof only means that they will stay idiots. :D)

Nah... I can honestly say that I don't want one. I can find a better use for 8k.
If I got it for free... then I'd give it away. Its not built for the out-doors. Or any sense of an active, moving life.

Its not a holy war... its a phone. If the feature set/price/brand/look whathaveyou doesn't suit you then get another phone (or keep the one you have) why does this subject turn people into retards??? :confused:
I must agree with marine1 tho (and not to make any assumptions about the finances of anyone on this forum) - its often those who cannot afford who slag it off the hardest 'tis jealousy plain and simple.
