IPL 2016 - The Official Thread

Did AB have blood on his chin for the post match presentation?

It looked grazed yeah. Bloody stupid of Chahal. A smack like that could cause a concussion. Obviously wasn't intentional but just a bit insane the way he jumped up and caught AB there.

I have never been a fan of Kholi. I thought he was arrogant and over rated, I always felt AB played better under pressure.

then the game against the DD changed all of that for me. the way he handled himself in the field as a captain got me to see I was 100% wrong, he is a cricketing great, just like Ponting/Lara/Tendulkar/AB.
his passion on the side of the field, after he lost his wicket and not being able to take his team home for once was intense.

the sheer gusto of his fielding while he has all those stiches in his hand...

and the post match interview where he once again Praised AB as the best batsmen around, the second time in this IPL where he has said that.

I am now a Kholi fan. and at that a RCB fan.

my prediction for the next 3 games:

SRH to loose to Kings 11, just like the game over the weekend, the kings 11 just want it more.

GL to beat the Kings 11. Bravo and Smith will simply run away with that game again, the west Indian Passion is there burning bright.

GL to loose to RCB in the final, 3 games losses in a row for the lions is my prediction. Gale will not make a contribution, but VK and AB will put on a 200 run partnership again and the lions will simply not chase, like they did in the previous clash before this one.

all of this I say as a GL fan, throughout this IPL they have been the team that has felt like a national team, there was a sense of pride in them playing that no other team could capture in my opion...

Kings 11 are not even in the final 4? :wtf:. You mean KKR i.e. Kolkata Knight Riders.

If GL lose 3 in a row, how will they be in the final? :p

And therein lies the difficult task of the captain to decide whether to bowl him out or hold him back for an over or two later in the innings. Betcha Raina wished he had kept just one over spare.

Was the right call there, imo - the way Kulkarni was going, there was a decent chance of another wicket...30-odd for 6 with AB back in the hut and the Lions would have won by a country mile.

Giving Jakati his debut in a high pressure game like this was a bigger gamble...those 4 overs from him and Smith brought RCB back into it (0-59 compared to Jadeja and Kulkarni's 6-35 off 8).

Hindsight, eh?

KKR are scuppering their chances tonight. Yuvraj also playing a big role in the match.

The KO Stages

24 - (Qualifier 1) RCB vs Gujarat Lions (Bangalore)
25 - (Eliminator) Sunrisers Hyderabad vs KKR (Pune)
27 - (Qualifier 2) Gujarat Lions vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (Pune) - 16:30
29 - (Final) RCB vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (Bangalore) - 16:30

So Aus vs SA in the Final ... hope Warner trips over something and breaks his left pinky finger :D

Warner should have bowled first because with rain around it's usually better to bat 2nd as you know exactly what the D/L target is throughout the innings.

Great powerplay for SRH...almost 10 rpo and no wickets down. They need a big total though...200 or more. Looks a good pitch.
