IPod mini won’t turn on?

My iPod mini is not turning on. Yesterday my iPod was turn off because of its battery was too low. After that I connect the charger but it’s not charging. Still it’s not turn on. I am worrying about that it’s my second iPod.

Is it an iPod nano 6th generation by any chance? We have also had two of them fail within a year. The device still functions, but the back-light of the screen doesn't and it appears like the device is off. Until you look at it at just the right angle.

If it is an iPod mini it is remarkable that it lasted this long. Let it rest in peace, if it has served you this long it is a true workhorse.
