Is AbsoluteHosting down?

@Jade @ Absolute Hosting I have several friends who use you guys, and some mentioned that they haven't received feedback to date (this was about a week ago). It led me to asking others for the feedback so I could pass it on, but it turns out NONE of them received feedback, whether they're running a blog or the website for a company with 100+ staff. You might want to look into this.
I agree had to come to MyBB for feedback, an email or SMS would be appreciated

I personally have no issue with using a whatsapp group, but I think it might be worth considering setting up a status.io page.

i think this is slowly becoming the industry standard for posting outages, not a requirement for me, but just posting as a suggestion :)

This is limited to 5000 subscribers ?

Or at the very least they should not host their client portal and corporate website in the same data center as their core hosting infrastructure.

The website is accessible albeit quite slow but its locked behind the client log in which is failing

SMS's have been sent out to all clients with links to the whatsapp channel where we are providing updates as quickly as they come in including photos to show the work that is being done.

We don't want to be forced to accept some extra WhatsApp Channel Terms and another Privacy Policy, giving more data to Facebook, to access these critical outage updates. Please provide an alternate option.

Luckily some traffic is moving through my websites from MTN and Vodacom. Cannot connect to my services via my fibre ISP and Telkom... Not sure about CellC traffic.

ETA is 60 minutes for connectivity to be restored where after teams will continue with repairs to primary and secondary links.

From the last quote, it was said that the report would be shared with all clients by that Friday, which would have been 2 May.
Also looked around the site a couple times since for same, but nothing has been published there either.

Will there be follow through or is each customer expected to open a ticket to request it?

Domain/DNS/Web Hosting with Absolute Hosting, with email hosted by Microsoft, and nothing is going in or out at the moment. No errors, but no delivery either.

Also tried accessing the website from MTN and not working.

Today has been an Absolute disaster with clients screaming as its month end and this impacts my clients payroll system.

I just noticed that absolute hosting no longer list africa data centers as its location and now list digital parks africa,

When did we move? was the previous weekend long "outage" related to any moves or migration?

As a long time and satisfied customer, I've been following progress here and on WA, and understand the challenges AH is facing.

However, as a former (Cisco) networks employee, I'm a bit concerned today at what appears to have been a single point of failure taking my website and email down.

Are there alternative WAN connections at AH, or was this it?

Connectivity teams are currently still busy with repairs to both cables, with new Microduct's and optics being pulled, followed by splicing.

Update as recieved : Teams attending are almost complete, and will then move to the other end of the circuit and begin testing.

ETA is currently 1 hour until we can confirm if repairs are successful. Updates to be posted as soon as possible

Did you read the terms and policy? What highly confidential information are we sharing with facebook by accessing a channel? (assuming you already have whatsapp already)

Splicing and testing is still underway - updates will be posted as they are received.

Apologies for the delays in updates.
