On topic though, this mining business just got me irking to wanna crossfire (and not even for mining) I've never owned a crossfire machine before and learning about dual GPU setups etc I really just wanna give it a bash

Maybe some of the smart people can elaborate, but from what I've read, you have a slightly lower performance if you use SLI or Crossfire configurations when it comes to mining.

But I stand to be corrected.

Played around with it, dropping my core clock makes the hash go down to 28.3 I'm not sure why, but it happens more with my core than with my memory clock.

It's simple really. It is because people are giving you nVidia advice for your AMD R9 2xx card.
I found some R9 290 specific advice with some googling, and my results mirror those. GPU clock important. RAM clock not so much. I drop my RAM clock from 1250 to 850 without my hash rate slowing down.

I can't seem to underclock my memory, it won't go lower than 1250, even if I set it on 1150 in afterburner, the screen still says 1250.

For those of you who ordered your hardware from overseas (e.g. Amazon.com), were you ever charged additional fees for customs clearance by a local 3rd party? I just got an email from Fedex South Africa asking for over R500 in fees despite Amazon already having charged me shipping and customs fees.

I get about 50 using the lyra 2v2 algorithm

Hi all. I downloaded NiceHash Miner v1.7.5.13 on Friday night - setup and benchmarking was pretty simple (thanks to everyone in this thread who posted regarding getting started). Currently running a GTX 1060 6GB (I built the machine for light gaming, and general PC use) but figured I'd let it run overnight and when I'm at work to try and generate a bit of extra income. I haven't played with the card's memory clock yet or anything - just let it run as is for now.

A few questions, if I may:

- What clocks would you recommend to get the most out of my card? It's currently running at stock speeds.
- Under Settings -> Devices/Algorithms do I just leave all that are checked by default after the benchmark, or just select the most profitable for my hardware?
- The NiceHash download came with a Trojan which my AV dealt with quickly. Every time I run the program now I get a message saying I need to download some additional files - I'm suspect that it might be trying to download the Trojan again. Anyone else experienced this?
- Where can I find RX 480/580's?! Or, should I just go for one of the big boys (1080/1080ti) instead?

NHM automatically switches to and mines the most profitable coin at the time for your card. That's the premise, at least.

Selecting or deselecting options determine which algorithms may be selected. If it's not selected, it will be skipped and the next most profitable coin will be selected.

Conversely, if you want NHM to ONLY mine a specific coin/algorithm, then only select it.

Am i able to mine with my CPU as well? If so is it worth it and am i able to mine with both at the same time? Last question
