We just got Fibre installed in our complex and would like to get a 20mbps line for our house. However, I've heard that fibre isn't stable as the infrustructure is still being completed etc.

My question is: Is it worth getting fibre now and just deal with the instability or wait til the quality improves and get a 20mbps ADSL line?

:D

Who says that Fibre isn't stable?

Fibre is more stable than ADSL
+1

I have a stable 156ms to LoL EUW. It's the ISP that messes up sometimes so I get 158ms. This versus ADSL which fluctuates between 168ms and 175ms.
Have yet to ever suffer packet loss on my line.

Had my fibre line since last week Thursday not a single drop that was not caused by myself changing router settings

If it's not yet completed, yes, you may have the odd disruption here and there. I wouldn't break my head about it however.

Once it's done, it should be very stable and you won't generally have issues, as others have mentioned.

Vumatel. Uptime so short because I upgraded the firewall.

I've had fibre In my complex for two months now. 100% uptime since it went live. Fibre is definitely more stable than ADSL.

You might think it's unstable because you read articles on here which are mostly about issues :).

From personal experience I have found fibre very stable.

Moved a few months ago and transferred my adsl to the new address only to be told later that there is no adsl coverage but they can do fibre for me. Not a single minute of issues since that day. Openserve btw.
