IS News Server down?

Its not really free though, they get income from the accounts they sell.

Fair enough, but we're not paying a premium on top to use the news server. They don't exactly have to offer it which would leave us stuck with uncapped accounts. I don't see SAIX offering a decent news server.

I've been out here for about 6 months now, and was stuck with a 3 gig cap. I found out about the local accounts last month, and being able to get approx 30 gigs of stuff for R130 is just f*cking brillant!

Exactly. They'd lose a lot of customers if the news server was not part of the package.

And if it was free you'd be able to use a SAIX account to download.

Ja, the IS server has been *** since the beginning of this month, it seems to enjoy dropping connections.

Stonecold u can say that again getting stuff all from the server. Really annoying because no1 seems to know wats happening, sound bout right for South Africa though!

Maybe smash the server? It might actually run then!

I'm getting intermittent connections to the various IS news servers...on cached feeds i usaully get between 400-460kb/s...but today i'm stuggling to even connect to IS news servers...

but its a bit slow... use to get 40KB on my 384 line, now only hovering at 20 lol... well, u can't be tooo gready
