surely though using a service like easynews.com is only viable with international bandwidth available?

kinda defeats the point when one episode of a show is either 300+ or 700+MB... I'm guessing you are on a higher cap, say 10GB, I'm just a poor boy and can only afford a 3GB/27 local...

Yes - it needs international bandwidth but there's nothing stopping a couple friends from sharing an account.
