IS News Server down?

With newsleecher, Ive been getting fluctuating speeds of between 100k/sec and 200k/sec, solid files, got the new PB and other stuff. I guess I should be ecstatic with a 100k/sec average speed compared to people getting a big fat zero :( Hopefully it will all be solved next week when IS do the migration of their facilities this coming weekend. Looking forward to getting max speeds on monday! :D

What are you talking about? You mean from next monday we can expect the news server to be back to its normal working self?

Dear IS Customer

Internet Solutions has two STM1 satellite circuits that terminate on antenna RCK-01A at the Roaring Creek (Pennsylvania, USA) Earth Station. Our vendor, AT&T, has a requirement to make adjustments to the Antenna Tracking System. In order to complete thi
s task, the two circuits need to be temporarily migrated to a second antenna (RCK-02A). These adjustments will enhance the stability and tracking ability of the antenna.

We intend on migrating one STM1 circuit at a time, to minimise the impact on our customers. The migration will result in the circuit being down intermittently during the maintenance, and traffic will be rerouted.

The first STM1 move is scheduled for:
Friday night, the 6th October 2006 at 22h00 (SAST), through to Saturday morning, the 7th October 2006 at 08h00 (SAST).

We will then go through a period of monitoring the first circuit for 14 hours after which we will commence with the migration of the second STM1.

The second STM1 move is scheduled for:
Saturday night, the 7th October 2006 at 22h00 (SAST), through to Sunday morning, the 8th October 2006 at 08h00 (SAST).

This will result in intermittent degradation of International access services for ADSL and 6-to-1 Access customers during the maintenance.
General internet browsing to some international sites may also be affected, as traffic to two of our cache servers (one cache at a time), may be interrupted.

Well there you have it. I hope that things with the newsservers will be sorted out once all this is completed. At least they have given a date.

I still cant seem to get many files off the server.... Zubs i got the same prob as u it says its downloading but i dont get files :/

Suxx cant get new PB or Des house or house or anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FFS IS fix ur **** so i can enjoy my series
 
it still doesn't explain why the server has been down since September!
 
What i dont understand is why some of the files are unavalible cuz aint all the stuff coming from intl servers... ?
 
Freaksta i started using grabbit just now and its working fine, getting 300k so im really confused. Does anyone how get files to automatically retry download in Grabbit, some files dont connect and then it doesnt retry untill i manuall do it.
 
Okay ta Zubs ill give it a try with prison break... if that doesnt work then i donnoo... :/
 
just look in the settings must be there

zubs i would also sign up to grabit its really cheap and the searching on grabit is the best ive seen anywhere

ive had grabit running fine full 45k for 2 days

i should be getting 64k but my stupid adsl line only does max of 52?

dont know why i bothered changing from 384 as i was getting 42

10k is nothing extra

Might I recommend myepisodes.com and vcdquality.com - between those you wont miss a thing. :)
 
can someone tell me something

i downloaded with movie with .rar files which is fine but also came with par files?

anyone care to help me
 
The PAR files are only need to be used/downloaded if any of the RARs are corrupted... What i usualy do is download the 1st par file usualy named like this NAMEOFFILE.par2 so if any of the rars are corrupt and i cant extract it i run the par file in quickpar so i can see what other par files i need to download to fix the corrupted RAR..

Hope that makes sence.. :P

Usualy i dont get the PAR's unless i have to cuz it saves me 50megs with each episode... :P

Nice thing about myepisodes is the customised episode guide with rss.

I'll have a look at the NZBsRus though - thanks.
