IS News Server down?

Well, cached you normally get great speeds cause someone else has gone and spent a while downloading it at crappy speeds, usually a new movie or series.

uncached is midget pron which is sooo worth getting but is seriously slow and the server usually gives missing articles / remote server disconnected and errors like that... ;)

eg: busy getting jackass 2 now(430kb/s) - pretty sure hansa has got most of it cached for me - thnkz hansa ;)

The one downloads faster than the other. :p

Can't someone set up a site where people can add the stuff that they've finished downloading?
It'll just be a list - no links to anything so the BSA can do nothing about it.
 
If there is a way to REALLY tell if file is cached, im all ears
 
So there is no way to tell other than the speed? OK, i was wondering if someone was using something that could tell the difference.
 
The guy would never have space in his PM inbox when the news servers went down!!! Would not like to be him.
 
Even one worse: imagine the rough ride a Telkom or SAIX rep would have!!!!

:mad: hehe lol....:D .......it stared going extreemly fast at 400 then went to 200 now its slowd down its going at like 40kbps now :p

im 87.3 % done chanpionaship manager and jackass 2

There's two telscum dudes on the forum, Gangstarr and Photonman, I don't think they've got a tough time ;)

Seriously funny, worth a watch guys, even though they stupid idiots - got a good chuckle out of a few things they did. The puppet snake is the best ;)
 
I'm only getting 8KB/s fastest was 14KB/s since Sunday on my 384 line
 
well since last night my speeds went down to anything between 5kb/s to 15kb/s where i use to get around 30-40kb/s on my 384 line....

After the obligatory reset of the connection/line/server at 12.30 last night, where everything goes to 0, my speeds dropped from 20k/s to around 10k/s. Wow very soon it might be an option to get 56K dial-up again. Normally I would bitch and moan, but you know, I just don't care any more.
 
i think this thread should be renamed.......the official (or unnoficial?) IS news servers thread

cos we've lost the topic a long time ago

wih grabit it really really sucks you have to choose every file and choose the server to download it with......i need to get newsleecher wotking :(

Does newsleecher work as well as grabit? Grabit is the first news client I have used that actually does a fine job of *downloading* while ignoring or bypassing silly errors from the IS server.
 
hansa i dont know what your doing wrong buddie

but i download my nzb import set half to each news server and it works

ive used everything else and they all suck


grabit ownz

learn how to use it and you'll be better off
 
Select half your batch, right-click and download with other server. Then right-click each server and set the maximum number of connections to 4. You should then be able to tick 8 boxes in the threads list.
