I am sorry that a stupid shaving fetish has gripped the majority of women.

Until the 1920’s women never shaved and men were happy to have them that way. The change came when the advertising industry suggested to the major manufactures of shaving products that, via advertising campaigns, women could be humiliated into removing the “unsightly” hair and thus double the sales of shaving products.

For a long time European women stayed natural but that look has largely gone now.

I'm guessing you're about 25 or so? When I grew up it was pretty much the norm women to be unshaved. I went through a stage when I preferred it shaved but I feel as though the novelty has worn off. I'm not judging because I find hairy legs on a woman repulsive but I guess an unshaved pu$$y just seems like a statement of being comfortable with yourself and not pandering to media images of sexiness.

You guessed wrong... add another 17 years to that. For me it is mostly about hygiene and not the esthetics. It is tougher for a woman to keep this area fresh and breezy with a thick bush around it, absorbing every bit of smell, moisture etc etc. Very much the same with armpit hair. I trim my armpits to the skin and it reduces the risk of even the faintest whiff of sweat by 99%. Hair absorbs "smell" and it is tough to get it out again. But hey...to each his/her own.

I agree, it is arbitrary. I don't buy the sanitary argument though. It's like the sanitary argument for circumcision. Its not that much harder to keep it clean. And there's nothing wrong with a little fresh body odor.
