I don't think it is at all dying. Parlotones are superb, so are locnville, goldfish, prime circle and loving goodluck... SA music is simply getting more awesome every time![]()
Not sure if serious.

hehe, definitely not how i got my nick, trust me...
Jack Parrow/Die Antwoord etc are more BS than sokkie music [ill add the "in my opinion"]
Im tired of hearing these morons singing about how rich they are, or how they will blow themselves up for a girl.
What happened to obscure and random.
Some idiot making Zef cool now we have a bunch of children schooled in our education system thinking it’s cool to be Zef.
I also feel the need to clarify.JP was just an example of "something else"(when in one of those moods). I'm a Theuns, Juanita {and Static-X, Godsmack (non-SA)} kind of person. Parletones (and Coldplay types) don't feature in my list.

I get what you are saying, but do not agree that the problem is isolated to SA musicians, their international counterparts are just as guilty of this. (Perhaps I could agree that a higher percentage of South African musicians make themselves guilty of this, but this then agrees to the OP's post regarding a lot of musicians following a formulae for writing songs and not coming out with anything new)
I thought we've had some good music this year. Better than international artists even.

WTF? she's is the devil leading this k.k music "revolution" along with Kurt D.
Just that is enough to show EVERYTHING that is wrong with these people.
I wish i can take these lyrics, go back in time, and give it to my std 5 music teacher, and see what she will think of it. she'll prob tell me to "not quit my day job". :wtf:
Good thing I don't sing. I'm ripping the wrong rhymes today.Juanita was not the best example, but every good collection need a view misses between all your hits to remind you why you like it so much.
Its weird, I used to like his shows, but loathed him. The night zoo was ridiculously cool, uncle pauls bed time stories ftw!
Anyways, he started to get really annoying for me at live shows and clubs. I actually wanted to belt him trying to force everyone at doors to go down on their haunches for nelly the elephant..he dragged it out for ages.
Cant deny he did a lot for SA rock, but i just dont like the guy
Ai. Come on - we all know you love Zef - you're from Brakpan after all![]()
There's a lot of great SA bands out there. Watch MK on DSTV, they're doing a lot to promote local music.
