Is the move to adjusted level 4 lockdown a good move? Is it too much for the country to bear or not enough to combat the third wave?
 
Do we even have a tourism and entertainment industry left to fsckup.

If we don't then level 4 can't do any damage.
 
I don’t know what the right answer to this is, or that there is a right answer, but this third wave has affected more people in my circle and environment than the first two combined which means we are all isolating regardless. Levels don’t matter at this point.
 
Yes, schools close soon so it will be quieter on the roads going to work

Precisely. We don't need the government corruption council to tell us what to do. We are all capable of making our own risk assessments and living accordingly.

And don't y'all gimme that "hospitals overloaded and government needs to implement whatnot to alleviate pressure on them" codswallop. The government has had ample time and money since April last year to do something about this. What they did was squander both time and money.

And also, don't y'all tell me "blah, blah, wait till someone you know is affected by corona" either. My own ****ing son had it, amongst other immediate family members, as well as friends and colleagues and some members of the EXCO I sit on. I am well aware.
 
Were I given to emotional incontinence I'd be seething and spitting with rage.

The sheer presumption and arrogance of these people in government is stupefying.

Not for a femtosecond do they stop to question whether they have the moral right to use state power to prevent others from engaging in what is otherwise perfectly legitimate economic and social intercourse.

Exactly as in previous times, we are on the threshold of a new age of tyranny. And it is heralded, abetted and supported by those who style themselves as enlightened, wanting only the Common Good.

Pox on them all.

So far it seems that the deaths aren't as high as second wave comparing number of people infected vs deaths daily, by now in the second wave we were hitting 200 to 300 deaths a day, yet now we're hitting 100 to 130? Perhaps this new strain is just more transmittable and not more virulent? Perhaps India was just a fluke because of other reasons I've mentioned before.

I think India just looked so bad when viewing raw number of daily deaths, cause there's just so many Indians.
 
I dont believe they used science to make the decisions. We also should have been in a much better position vaccine wise.
