Uhm. No ---> Banks.won't(shouldn't).ask.you.this.type.of.stuff.via.email.or.phone.

NO!
NO!

Only do it if your father was a gorrilla & you mother a chimpanzee.

Those are scam emails.

Never click a link that came in an email - it is as simple as that. If you receive a mail that says "verify your banking details" - open a web browser (yourself), log into your online banking and verify away. BUT never click the actual link in the mail - you'll see it takes you to a completely bogus website that looks like your banks (look at the address).

Honestly, don't you read the stuff that your online banking continues to shoot your way? I get a warning every time I log into FNB.

Work through this: http://www.sonicwall.com/phishing/

You IT and banking geeks would know, so it's always best to ask you.

Hi blunomore, if a dude on the street came over to you and asked you what your atm pin is or your credit card details, do you give it to them? If not, why would you give it to him via email? :D

Banks, Paypal, anyone who keeps your money or accounts will never, EVER ask you to confirm your details via email, and they should not do it via phone either. At worst they will inform you that you have to go update the details at the branch.

What do you mean, that is legit and also when you complete your online details you become eligible for amazing prizes. So far I've won $100'000'000 in the Kazakhstan lottery and once my R20'000 admin fee has been processed I can collect my prize money in person from Borat!!!
