Is this normal?

Okay, I found a second hand manual diff for R800, excluding labour. Is this a good price?

Let me quote myself from your E46/Residual thread:
Just go ahead and buy it, then in a year or so from now you can warn others not to make the same mistake.

Like so many others yearning for the "prestige" of a posh brand you've bought a car that you can't afford to maintain properly.

Can you get a new one, and from where can I source it in CPT?

You can - try pricing one at the dealers first, then see if you can find one in a scrapyard if the price is too high - they will give you the correct part number.

As KhoisanX says, however, let this be a lesson to those of you who come here asking for advice about buying fancy cars, and then cannot afford to maintain them. We wouldn't be having this conversation if you had taken our advice in your other thread.

Time to revisit this thread and see why we are now saying "I told you so..."

I missed most of that thread (even though I responded towards the end).

zizo dude, EVERYONE told you not to go the BMW route... you are now finding out why.

I have had 3 BMW's in my life, and will have one again... but it will not be my primary car.. it will be a toy.

Isn't that heat guage showing the car is running a little hot? Or was that just the camera angle?

Another Question....

When in neutral or with the clutch engaged, the car idles between 1000 and 2000 rpm, it revs up and then down continuously while idling, I replaced the air flow meter hoping it was that, but it still idles up and down. What else could be the cause of it?
Thank You.

I am now getting desperate!

Please take the damned car to a BMW expert! There could be a thousand reasons for the car to be idling too high.

Trying to get us to trouble shoot for you is pointless.

Sales people must love you Zizo, you're so easy to con it's not even funny. Your own ignorance is going to cost you a ton of money. You blatantly ignored the advice given by the people on the forum who are a lot more knowledgeable than you with regards to cars. If you don't have the brain to think, then you better have the money to pay.

Nope :p Heart set on a BMW

Lets buy a premium brand with high mileage which I can't really afford to maintain.

Fast forward one year later and look where you are.

MyBB generally gives good advice. Should have listened to us.
