Previously, Truecaller would inform you when a "SPAM" number was calling, thereby giving you the opportunity to decline it. At the time it was said that iOS did not allow TrueCaller and other call identification applications to proactively block calls. Today, I received a call from my Insurance company on a private line saying that they weren't able to reach me on my phone because somehow I had been blocking their official line. I checked the numbers that I had deliberately blocked (directly) in the phone app, and theirs wasn't one of them. I also was under the impression, that if Truecaller did somehow block an incoming call, it would reflect in my recent missed calls? Is this person taking a chance or does Truecaller silently block calls on iOS nowadays?

most of the time that stupid app doesn't even tell me if it is spam...
I've noticed too, usually on cellular networks. Probably a network issue.

That being said, I'm weary of actively blocking calls, numbers get shared and you might miss something you're expecting.

It reflects in Truecaller call log. They could be taking a chance, or you've blocked a number that was previously used for spam.

Not sure why it wouldn't show in the log.

Didn't know Truecaller was still a thing. Do people actually use that?

Well, I had a look at the FAQ and it seems you're not supposed to know about blocked calls, so I guess the app is working as designed. I don't think it always worked this way before though.
