Is Truecaller Actively Blocking Calls on iPhone now?

It reflects in Truecaller call log. They could be taking a chance, or you've blocked a number that was previously used for spam.

Not sure why it wouldn't show in the log.

There is no log on iOS, it doesn’t replace the dialer.

Well, I had a look at the FAQ and it seems you're not supposed to know about blocked calls, so I guess the app is working as designed. I don't think it always worked this way before though.

Blocked numbers are added to your contacts and would be killed silently.

It’s different from random Spam numbers you didn’t block yourself though.

Seems they got a bit more clever or iOS allows them a bit more integration now so it no longer uses Contacts for this.

The Blocked list lives inside the app now and it “redirects” when you enable it in Settings.

The Blocked Contacts in iOS Settings only related to ones natively blocked by iOS itself.

Now if only they could make it work with WhatsApp.

I have the option how to deal with blocked numbers. I choose to be notified when a number is blocked.

I get loads of calls every day from unknown numbers, some I need to take and others I need to block.
I don't see how working adults wouldn't have a use for this app.

Which means it’s also just an app running on top of Android so really no different than Truecaller.

But it's integrated much better. And it doesn't broadcast my entire contacts list to their servers.

Oh it definitely does, no other way for it to work really.

Which is likely why Apple’s doesn’t work as well since they don’t do that and only work with reported data.

It’s just Hiya in a Samsung wrapper and it works exactly like Truecaller does using a contacts database.

So you are just using an inferior version of Truecaller I’m afraid. Nothing magical about it. But sure it’s more baked in, but end of the day same same.

I’ve used Hiya in the past and again in SA it didn’t work as well as Truecaller.

I use TC as standalone as I can. Last thing I want is its claws in everything.

No, it is not. I activated the 7 day free trial last week to test it out as they advertise that it is now integrated, but how it actually works is when you get a call from an unknown number, you need to activate Siri and ask it to search Truecaller for that number. Tried it a few times when I got calls from an unknown number and it did not work once. I've cancelled the trial and will carry on ignoring these calls and then looking them up later when I have the time.
