Hi guys I need some help with my android phone, lg g7 to be exact, the moment I connect it to a wifi network, it hogs up the wifi and starts sending things to an unknown place, and the only way to stop it is by putting my phone on battery saver mode.

I'm a little new to android so it's kicking me a bit. Anyone else experiencing this? How can i fix this?

Likely google photos, whatsapp or something else is backing up your video's, photos etc.
Not a bad thing and can be disabled.

Go to your data usage and see which apps used most of the data. Odds are it'll be one of the Google apps like Photos which backs up your pics regularly.

Google photos!!! Thank you so much, i was losing my mind.

Yeah, I also use Google Photos.

It will upload only if the phone is connected to wifi AND it is charging.

Had a similar issue with my S8 when I got it. Some samsung cloud feature was uploading photos every time someone in the house took a picture. Had to put a stop to that on 3 cellphones at home because it was killing the wifi every time stuff got uploaded.

Sounds like it's syncing all your media(pics/music/videos) to the cloud or google drive. It could also be doing app backups for watsapp and such. Check settings and amend as necessary.
