ISP Praise Wall !!!

Afrihost support

Whilst I have been with Afrihost ISP pretty much since the start, I have not yet had to call support, but have read on these forums that some people have not had good experiences.

Well, Friday at 16:30 I called and once I had done the automatic responses, within seconds was talking to a live person (Rodney if memory serves correct). A good start! I found him helpful and told me that I needed to contact Telkom for a reset which I did yesterday (now that took a while and was a mission - but once I did get to speak to a techie, he was very good I must say) All seems much better.

I think often we are quick to complain and slow to compliment, so well done Afrihost support :)

SAINET

Yesterday seemed to be a terrible day for me

Firstly, i signed up with SAINET on the 7th at 16:09, SAINET has a disclaimer on their website stating that they aren't 100% ready for uncapped internet just yet so if you signing up for the 384k option, make sure that your line speed is 384k. Adrenalin signed up for the 384k option, i honestly did not see that part of the website, i have a 512k line. R449 debit order went off. I was happily browsing, then.... disaster, account disabled becase i have a 512k line and a 384k uncapped option.

Well, let me tell you that on the SAME DAY, i had 50GB of data to use for March which works out to R9 per GB. They initially did not want to give me a refund and suspend my a/c until the 9th April.

For me, that was good customer service because the company came to a mutual agreement with their customer.

Over and above that one of my family members got very bad food poisoning and that just made me shout at SAINET and give them quite a mouth full, but, i think i deserved some kind of data/refund/anything for my R449.

Good job SAINET

Happy Customer

Webafrica has been an awesome ISP.

I have been with them about 5 years, they signed my account up in the middle of night. Their topup system for the prepaid packages and others works awesomly. They don't require copies of credit card and ID when using one and with their bigger packages.

There staff actually understand how to help you with your account / support queries and to this day, I've never had a problem with my account or ADSL packages. Always working.

Cybersmart !

Hey guys... Laurie and Cybersmart gets my WooT of the year!

I was looking at Mweb uncapped 384kbs offered today... I am with Cybersmart so I emailed them.

Laurie replied...

A single email from me, and Laurie came up trumps.

I am gobsmacked! Service to the nth degree!

There is no real loyalty in the ADSL ISP marker, but, from today... there may just be from me.

Thanks Laurie... Wooooooooot Cybersmart!

MWeb Uncapped Upgrade

Called MWeb Sales to upgrade my 3GB all-inclusive account to the new uncapped service. Got through immediately and upgrade completed in less than 5 minutes.

Afrihost. Not one but four different people responded to my emails to ensure that my modem setup is correct. I didn't bug them, I emailed them twice. Things would've been sorted out sooner (they responded within hours to each email) but I was unavailable to take their offered calls. They did everything short of sending a masseuse over with a box of chocolates. When I read up on Afrihost on this forum I thought it was too good to be true, but it's not.

Best of all, the application is online. I did it last weekend and didn't have to phone anyone. That's right - my ISP was set up over the weekend. Keep it up, Afrihost!

Web Africa - For Bringing Free Steam access to SA for users on their network (FreeZone). Even if the content is not on their server and gets Dl`d international its still free.

+1

So looking forward to using it . They have great specials on Steam. I like the idea of trying out demos again without having to buy magazines or pay for the bandwidth. Also some nice old titles available I can't get hold of elsewhere

CYBERSMART - Laurie sorted out a major Telkom headache and changed my account over... UNSHAPED rocks, thank you

Afrihost: Had excellent customer service not only from Gian, but the rest of the support staff as well. Had niggling queries with the consistency of my line speed and latency for which I was given an adequate explanation.

1 April

Afrihost - Congrats to Gian, Afrihost CEO, for finally sending out a detailed and proper explanation for their lack of service delivery. It's layed out in such a way, the 'non-IT-PPL" can understand it, and for those "IT PPL" who want to know a little more, can then read the mail further.

I will be keeping Gian to his word - Afrihost has redeemed themselves in my eyes - what was important for me, was latencies comparable to capped accounts, this seems to be true again, after IS's cascading failure.

SAOL is Fantastic!
Its truly unshaped
totally unlimited
No throttling what so ever
with No restrictions
and absolutely great service
THANK YOU

My praise goes to MWEB for their help on the Sales side and the Technical teams.

Afrihost

With all the bitching and complaining about speeds through Afrihost I just want to highlight the fact that I have been getting download speeds of +450kB/s for the last 4 days

These guys deserve a few months to get their s... together - they have certainly earned it

So I've had my WA 4meg/16gig MYBB special account for a few days and it's been fantastic so far

AfriHost & Mweb

Never thought I'd praise them both in the same post :wtf:

Sadly cancelled my AfriHost uncapped (couldn't handle the thought of 128k :( ),
Moshe helped me out with amazing speed (even over Easter weekend!!)
