Hello Guys.

So the time has come again.

Seems like OpenWeb were the prefered ISP after the Afrihost sinking ship move to MTN.

Now openweb are literally making using the internet during the morning and afternoon impossible.
My experiance with support has not been the best as they sort of do what they wish and dont tell you much.

So, which ISP is currently the most preferred? Regarding Gaming, Pings and service.

I loved openweb but im not sure now, as i experianced Web Africa type service. (not good)

What account do you have?

The cheaper accounts aren't really good for day time use. I've never had issues with my GOLD account whenever I'm on leave and need to use the internet during the day. Even torrents are fine.

2mb Gold Uncapped Power Edition

Many people are having an issue. You literally cannot even open facebook. let alone send an email.

That's what happens when you get the bottom end uncapped accounts.

I have a 1 meg business uncapped account with Afrihost - no throttling, shaping or any issues at all.

so it seems business is the only real option :< what about normal afrihost uncapped

Afrihost's additional capacity hasn't gone live yet and I doubt it will while Telkom have their network freeze.

I would suggest you stay clear of their home uncapped if you're situated in the Gauteng region.

It appears that these days, we're heading steadily backwards in terms of the internet. Internet Service Providers are all becoming very childish about their uncapped offerings. We seem to be heading back to the "3GB is enough for anybody" mentality. They don't want you to use the net during business hours and become *******s when you use it after hours as advertised, to the full extent.
