ISPAfrika - great service!

Applied with ISPAfrika for 10mb uncapped on 4 August. Telkom/Openserve installed on 11 August from 11h00 until about 13h30. ISPAfrika tech came out and set up router etc after 15h00 on the same day.

10mb uncapped line running at approx 9.8mbps down and just under and sometimes over 5mbps. 4ms ping to local servers and 20ms ping to Jhb game servers. Little bit of a teething issue with line dropping a few times, BUT - hats off to ISPAfrika - great service so far!

Any feedback about ISPAfrika's service after 9 months since your installation @funkychicken ?

All I can say is this ........ Openserve completed their fiber roll out recently in my area (the project is still ongoing, but they opened up a few blocks thus far - I am in one of them :whistling:). Read some reviews on mybb and finally went with applying for a fiber line with ISPAfrika on 17 May 2017.

True to the posts in the fiber thread ... Garth responded to my application and answered all my questions. Yesterday (22 May 2017), I received a call from the techies - they were en-route to my house to do the fiber installation.

All I can say is WOW!!

They have become so bad. These guys have brilliant pre-sales support, but when you need technical support you might as well shout at a rock.

My internet has been limping like a dying dog all morning and despite logging a ticket, it took me complaining on Facebook to find out they're experiencing a massive network outage. Their network status page naturally hasn't been updated since July 2016.

I was at their offices recently and let me just tell you, it explains a lot. I honestly can't recommend them to anyone. From hard-capping our uncapped account, to constant outages and barely present tech-support, they are just all around very unimpressive for a fibre ISP. I'm very glad we cancelled our service with them.
