My quest for fibre started here on myBB and after reading countless threads on how many people were experiencing installation delays and issues upon installation etc, I had begun to loose faith on even applying for a fibre line.
It just seemed like a huge hassle and a long wait and I really wasn't keen on dealing with all the headaches.
I was on the verge of just applying for an ADSL line (not that it would be headache free but its tried and tested) when I stumbled upon 2 threads pertaining to ISPafrika and the positive feedback received.
Based on only those two threads I decided to give them bash! I emailed ISPafrika on 05 March (Sunday night after 9pm) to get the ball rolling for a fresh Monday start! 5 minutes later I receive an email back and I thought nothing of it... probably automated response... a few minutes later I decided to clear the notification on my phone and opened the mail to see that all the questions I had asked had been answered and an application form had been sent through to me.
That is where it all started! A BIG UP to Garth from ISPafrika for the incredible one on one communication and feedback. This guy deserves an outstanding service award or something!
Although there were complications with the install as openserve had not installed the slim boxes required for the line to be pulled through to my unit, Garth stayed on top of the openserve manager and kept the pressure on to ensure they made things happen. He also sent through email updates every 2-3 days so that I had peace of mind and knew exactly what was going on.
My line was installed on 18th of March but if it was not for the slim box issue it would have been within the same week as telkom phoned me to schedule the installation 4 days after the application was sent through!
I really have to commend Garth once again and the ISPafrika team for the level of service received! I wish more companies operated like this!
