I recently changed my antivirus software from Norton 360 to Mc Afee Total Protection. Then I got struck by the istartsurf.com malware, what a mission to remove AND nothing about it on mybroadband. So I thought i would post the multitude of removal steps it took to get a clean machine.

Which antivirus would you guys recommend and @Kianm I think I picked it up whilst downloading Purbleplace from Microsoft for my kids.

Most users may mistakenly consider iStartSurf.com as a useful site at the first sight, since it offers a search engine and various quick links that allow users to access various internet sources. However, it is a nasty browser hijacker designed by cyber hackers to boost website traffic and promote certain products or services. The following is the screenshot of iStartSurf.com:

Eset works realy well for me but you should buy malwarebytes too if your planning on downloading more "free software" from the internet.
