IT Programmer and Engineer Required

As mentioned above, this is for a relatively inexperienced candidate, so salary rage would be between R8,000 - R15,000 pm depending on the candidates level of expertise and experience.
So you want a slave, in other words....

Go look for a slave in China my man.

Like the people here said, that I might add, know a lot more than you do... you need a team.
The days of Groot Meneer with bieg IT company in Pretoors are over.. IT doesn't work like that anymore, you're in the wrong decade pal!

I honestly think there is a disconnect between the market and your expectations. If I may suggest, perhaps a rethink the salary range or a rethink of the responsibilities and working conditions are in order.
Yup after hours support on that? I mean sure if the person was part time or something.

Thanks for the great response to my thread! I'm definitely getting the attention I wanted.
Just to be clear:

This means that I am looking for a relatively inexperienced candidate (2-5 years experience) that is ambitious and looking for a great opportunity for self-development and growth. I could just as easily hire our IT support company to set up the hardware and build our new site, or ask the new ERP software company to bring in a team that would take care of the transition from old to new software. I dont want to do that. I want to have my hand on the process and create a new position in my company for someone who is willing to learn and grow in the process.

How many months worth of salary would it cost you outsource? I suspect the quotes you're getting is likely a years worth of salary at this price? Although, the outsourcing would probably be a helluva hit to your cashflow post-pandemic. So you're looking to ease your cashflow by doing this and likely getting some tax breaks for "upskilling" someone?
I earned more than that as a junior IT tech in like 2008. My job spec, surprisingly, had a lot of similar requirements. Accounting for inflation, I'd say you need to offer a salary starting from R20k.

Yeah... this could be a stepping stone for an inexperienced techie working in IT support, has some drive for the rest of the stuff, but can't find work in those fields without experience or a qualification.

Thanks again for all the comments on the post. I have realized that my ballpark in terms of salary vs experience was way off and I have not been able to find a successful candidate yet. We have decided to keep looking for a candidate that would fit in the position, and if we receive this candidate, we would make an offer to improve the candidates current remuneration package. So...in other words... we can offer experience and a nice new challenge to someone with drive and who likes to build something from scratch. The remuneration package should not be the deciding factor. Please still submit CV's to [email protected] if you are interested and have read the job spec.

That's great to hear. Hopefully you will get more interest now because low balling generally leads to low quality candidates or fewer responses and yes 8k is low balling :cautious:
