I have just yesterday received my iPhone4 
and begun the process of migrating my life over from the 3GS, when I suddenly got the error message: "sync server failed to sync the iphone" and then later: "iTunes could not back up the iPhone "iPhoneName" because the backup session failed".
I did some google searches and found the path to the backup files but not sure what to do with them
- I have also made backup of these incase something happens.
From some of the search results suggestions, I have tried restoring from within iTunes - (edit, preferences, devices) but there was not backup file found.
Then I tried the right-click on device, clicked back-up and got the same error messages ("iTunes could not back up the iPhone because the backup session failed")
iTunes also takes considerably long when i access devices via iTunes menu or right-clicking iDevice.
I'm completely stumped at this and would appreciate any assistance.

FYI: Using windows 7 64bit Ent and latest iTunes 10.0.1.22 also device is not JBen yet :twisted:
