Jammers: Speedsters face arrest

how much does this cost?
Dunno - have to investigate :)

Back home they had a pretty effective method of telling who was using detectors. A cop would hide and fire off the radar gun (it was a while back ;)) and they'd pull over any car who's brake lights would suddenly go on.

I bought one in the states... Cost around $300 and it picks up every laser. Speed cameras, The police radars. The only problem is it also picks up the sensors at used by the Civil engineers... I've slammed on brakes a couple times for these guys...

Bought one in the UK (Beltronic 550) that can be setup for just about anywhere, for just over £200.

Something people using them should be aware of: if you have them set to detect X-Band radar, your radar detector will go off anytime you're near a store with an automatic door. In the UK an X Band radar detector is known as an automatic McDonalds detector :D

Must be a jammer as well. There is no real point detecting the laser.

Problem with the Metro's is that they trap for money, not to strategically slow drivers down.

These Jammers obviously cut into their profits.

But I've found you don't need a jammer, just look for the metro bakkie parked on the otherside of the road or the cop walking up and down checking the cameras.

Question... is there a legal route for the Metro's to take if you jam their radars and lasers? I mean really! I can spray my Number plates so it is not "Photo Genic" so I can block radars and lasers from my car? Mmmmmmm Oh they actually don't care much about the law now do they? I mean they can arrest you without real warants and then make the public believe they can...

i bought a brand new car 3 months ago:D last week i received my first speeding fine in the mail and i have a very strong suspicion there are gonna be more arriving over the next few weeks... so either i move house now.... or i get one of these :p

i don't understand all this technical stuff.. can one of you guys pls recommend which of these jammer thingies would be the best... value for money, ease of use, etc.

saw this on fifth gear

"TARGET LRC 100

£ 299.00 - inc. VAT - (£ 349.95 RRP)

The new LRC 100 is for opening garage automatic garage doors and some gates. As the Sunday Times article* also pointed out on November the 9th 2003, it also diffuses police laser guns preventing a reading being taken for a few seconds. The LRC - 100 is built in a high quality aluminium case, epoxy sealed from the elements, very strong and easy to mount with even more fitting options. Its supplied with one small transponder for fitting on the front of the car, a status LED warning diode for inside the car, a wiring loom with lots of cable and a speaker to notify you if the device is actively transmitting."

According to the test on 5thGear, it works pretty well (for jamming that is).
Our dumbass traffic pigs are too damn stupid to find this jammer anyways, as its pretty small and fits behind number plate.
