January transfers

+1. Going to a bigger, better club sometimes just means a bigger salary. Wayne Bridge epitomises this.
I'd rather stay at Everton, be an important 1st team player and fan favourite. But I'm not a footballer so...

Personally I would rather win trophies and everton doesn't offer that chance...

Then he shouldve chosen Chelsea?
The only trophy Spurs have won in about 50 years is the Carling Cup?

Yeah but looks like the Spuds might stand a chance at winning the EPL and even the CL this season. God forbid.

Its all about the money and a little bit of a chance of playing proper European football. Honestly I think he has a better chance of playing for Tottenham than for Chelsea. Tottenham is hopefully up and coming and throwing a spoon into the Premier League works. Hope he will be a success, but doubt it

I wonder whats going to happen to sp*rs when 'arry leaves to go manage england :D
the day is coming

Pienaar's decision is purely money driven. He has achieved cult status with the Toffees ' supporters. IMO he should have stayed with the men in Blue. His career will spiral downhill, as he may not cut it at a bigger club.

Hopefully the same thing that happened to Portsmouth after he left them :D

With regards to Pienaar.

I think he had a better chance to play at Chelsea than he has of playing at Spurs. Chelsea's squad is not that big at the moment and I think that is the reason why they made an offer for him. The problem with going to chelsea is that if they were to invest in there squad he could find himself out in the cold. Chelsea probably wanted him as a stop gap.

I don't follow spurs that close, but they seem to have a big squad so I wonder if we'll seem him on the pitch alot.

I read spuds are meeting his 70K wage demands. That's a lot of cash... and I wonder what he earned at Everton. If it was 50K'ish then he's being greedy & true won't get too much game time at spuds. He'd have played plenty at Chel$ki.

From what I read he could not agree personal terms with Chelsea. You could assume that its about money only, but we don't know what the length of the contract is that they offered him. We are making the assumtion its about money. It could be about the length of the contract. Maybe Chelsea only wanted to sign him for a year. Who knows.

Quite disappointed he's going to Chelsea. I think he would've done well at Chelsea and played more games than at totteham...
Oh well...

He will warm that bench nicely at spurs.

At Chelsea, he would have beaten Anelka and Kalou to play right, and he would have done wonders there.

Bent has agreed personal terms with Villa. Will be such a laugh if they get relegated and Sunderland get Europa football haha.

babel is gone. official site.personal terms are left to be agreed
