January transfers

70k a week is not bad. But 50% tax is not nice.

I read that its R770k per week. (PTA news). I also thought that Chelsea would've been the better choice where he could've replaced the 32yr olds but he knows something that we don't.
Good luck to him.

Vidic and Evra were both January purchases :)

So were Brana and Anelka. Then again, Anelka was familiar with the league and Brana didn't play for a year afterwards (nearly). Vidic didn't exactly set the world alight when he first arrived. Dunno 'bout Evra though. Foreigners in January is a bad idea. Big name signing in January generally bad idea. January is to plug holes with local talent, unless you're lucky.

Seeing as the Rand is around 11 to one pound sterling, it stands to reason that 70k a week British is gonna be around 770k in south african money. :erm:

Fark me!

Huh? That's nothing.
Rooney is on £250k a week. Not that I'm comparing the two players, but still.

Well then that deserves a Fark me!³ :p
I seriously can't relate to numbers like that. I'm sure that's why most of these players are such twats - they earn more money than they know what to do with.

But that is what an average player in the Premier League gets paid. I think the average player even the smaller clubs get about 50k pounds a week. If I am not mistaken Benny gets 50k pounds a week and he gets paid to warm the bench

Benni doesn't even make it to the bench, all he doesn is train with the team and he makes that much.

Basically Rooney can buy a mansion and a Ferrari every week. Take that.

I remember Michael Owen bought an entire street of a suburb for his family.

Wasnt that Beckham?

So... Fulham close to getting Ka.kuta on loand until the end of the season. Well... this gives me a reason to watch Fulham now. Hopefully we get Luiz so Bruma can go to Germany and that would be that m'thinks.

Seems like AC Milan have signed Urby Emanuelson. Ajax left back/winger in the mould of Gareth Bale. Awesome signing for Milan. They are finally looking to get some decent young players. :D
