YES GUYS ITS DIFFICULT DEALING WITH PEOPLE THAT DONT SPEAK ENGLISH PROPERLY AND THEY ALWAYS MAKE YOU WAIT,BUT ALWAYS READY TO TAKE YOUR MONEY FIRST.

Bought a couple of things from Viva in Durbanville. They're quite cheap with most products, but their service sucks. Just a bunch of arrogant people working there who doesn't know the first thing about customer service.

I also dealt with the Claremont branch.

The service was digusting. The Sales / Techs at the back are so arrogant.
The Sales rep was quite rude to me while the Techs behind the desk were
laughing @ his sarcastic remarks at me.

I left it at that, wasn't in the mood to get into a heated debate.

Will never go back there again.

Another victim onf 'The Angry Asian' :p My mates and I all refer to Viva as such.

They are really arrogant but try to imagine the kind of crap they deal with on a daily basis: southern suburbs brats and their moms... its gotta get fairly gnarly in that store form time to time.

I have found though that once you 'break through' they can be pretty cool guys.

I went in to show them something on my notebook and had a copy of some DAW drivers on my desktop - the Angry Asian dude saw them and asked for a copy saying he'd been trying to track them down everywhere... ever since then I have been treated really well by everyone in the store... its kinda like the internet circa 1990 ;)

Died a nasty death in the cpu clone wars along with NextGen.

NexGen ... did not really die ... where do you think AMD managed to get their K6 from after the disaster that was the K5 (their first x86 CPU design after they could not clone Intel designs anymore) ???.

This thread should not have come back to life, it's too old. I must say though that all the times I bought there (Claremont) I had no issues. The main guy that used to be there, Steven, was a bit arrogant, but a while later a guy called Derek took over and he was always nice.

Overall, I found with Viva that you could sometimes get good things yet they always seemed to lack the stuff you really wanted. Last time I was in Stadium on Main, it looked like they had downsized quite a bit, both hardware side and the cafe side. Sort of combined them into one now.
