It’s about when the creation process is driven to fit within a rating, it then has an effect on enjoyment.
Like any adaption which ignores the core elements of the source material, for example you know The Punisher and Batman have a darker story than other characters or Deadpool is which is more mature.
You can’t please everyone but neither can you disregard the entire fandom just to sell merchandise.
