He sure does tear up a lot of cars, in his tales of the cript PoloI for one hope he's telling the truth, and would really like to see the Polo rip ass down the 1/4mile...Anyone seen any Polow's in the Street Compact racing series?:confused:
 
Oh...got a mesage from the mederators yesterday, telling me to watch my language and stop this foulth crap and name calling...so JK8 and Schmoove Criminal I'm sorry I went all mad at ya'll, I might call it defense but it was not right calling ya'll names and having animosity in the air...cool dudes.I will post a pic of the 147 when I fit the wheels, which will be soon...
 
JK8 - you asked about testing ... did it last night.

First off, I have a larger intercooler which increases turbo lag and actually reduces boost slightly if there are no other mods (nothing on my car). Secondly, pull off was around was 2,900rpm and eased off fairly fast and DSTC was 'on' - but flooring through the gears and shifting at 6,000rpm. If you're really interested, it was done in the evening at 18 degree's celcius on level ground. ;)

I've heard rolling diameter of tyres make a difference on acceleration/top end - I'm not how (increases/decreases) but I have 235/35/19 on my car. After Googling, I see this lowers acceleration too :/ So with everything against me, I'm still getting respectable figures.

7.5 seconds to 100km/h and 1/4 mile in 15.5 seconds with an exit speed of 154km/h

Compared to a BWA spec 2.0T (DSG) at 7.3 seconds and 15.5 seconds as well (exit speed never over 150km/h though).

My summary is the C30 would take you with ease (always said so ...) and it's pretty much on par with a BWA until slightly gears, before the BWA starts dropping ...

I'll download these graphs in a week

I expected you to get around 7.5, but the GTi should have been around 7 flat or under...
15.5 quarter mile... sounds average, I have no idea what my time is... ill find out.
So whats your feelings about being beat by a 147kw 2.0T?? I mean you have a 169kw 2.5 5 cylinder turbo... your theories?
 
Are you on drugs? I told you I've *physically* raced two and beat both? 0.2 seconds is hardly anything to rave over in a DSG BWA ... and standard wheels/intercooler would add add that *shrug*

Besides - all the dubdub fans tell me a BWA is also 160kw? Does it change to suit the argument?

PS Never seen a GTI at under 7 sec, ever.

Anyhow - have you been in a Volvo? It was never made or marketed as a hot hatch : the ST the hot hatch.

Its by far more comfortable, classy and an easier drive than both mentioned cars - with the added extra of similar times.

Do you still feel you take them?
 
ROFL - much amusing - I remember this one time where a stock Golf 4 GTI beat an Ferrari Enzo in 400m sprint.... oh wait... it happens all the time....
 
LOL - Dolby, was forced to watch Twilight this weekend wiff wifey and there was a C30 in there being driven hard...I suggest you get the movie and skip through all the other parts and get to the C30 where he gives it beans and flicks it around!!!

Honestly, did you see the car before you bought it, or was it an impulsive eBay purchase?

Don't ask my opinion on the C30 if you a) know what it is and b) don't like it! ;)

I think I shall call you Edward from now on. :p
 
I get more stares, looks and even comments (wow - what a good looking car! or awesmoe car!) than I would in any Polo or A3 ;)
 
C30 is a great looking car, and people hate it coz they know theirs suck compared to the C30!!!
