Hi I bought these cameras from takealot.

They work perfectly when I connect a pc screen to the dvr box.
I cant seem to get remote viewing through the ethernet to work. I have
tried everything, there is also no clear instructions.

If anyone has experience or insight in this brand let me know, otherwise
I am just going to send them back, the software is very poor imo.

Can you connect with the IP address and port over a browser as per how you configured the DVR and your network settings?

If I type in the browser the ip address 192.168.1.54

I only get a text file which downloads.

Index of /mnt/web

Index of /mnt/web

On the box it says monitoring through your browser, I cant seem to make sense of this
dvr. I tried all the browsers also they all do the same.

Well, for my other brand DVR to work on my PC I had to install FireFox 51 and turn off updating, as all the newer browser versions don't like the plugin it downloads.

I tried firefox 51 with ports and without it just downloads a small text file of 1 KB that is all

Ok thanks would appreciate it I am clueless this make has very poor software and 0 instructions for remote viewing

Yeah nothing works, I am going to buy a dahua software seems better, or maybe a hikvision seems like the best bet.

I get this with that agent dvr software but it also doesn't work

i tried Ispy also and used the rtsp option through the wizard but it keeps saying the camera is disconnected.

It only has an account name admin and no password used the iSpy software picks up the dvr but says the cameras are disconnected on that rtsp stream.

I have given up they don't work email notifications and a lot of other features seem to not be working. Using rtsp link with proper username and password it keeps telling me the cameras are disconnected. I also cant connect over the phone to them with their janky app, so sending them back.

I have a similar Chinese DVR but they all use the same HiSilicon chip. You need the correct RTSP address to get any video, for instance mine is rtsp://admin:@192.168.88.247:554/0/av1. To use it in a web browser you need to install the ActiveX component in Internet Explorer but using the CMS software is way better. Hope it helps.

Yeah I think my rtsp address is wrong, but I can't find anything else. I will try yours and see how it goes later.

Sorry that was for the camera. Try these

RTSP Stream using VLC Main (1080P)

rtsp://$(IP):$(PORT)/user=$(USER)&password=$(PWD)&channel=$(Channel)&stream=$(Stream).sdp?real_stream

rtsp://10.6.10.25:554/user=admin&password=pass&channel=1&stream=0.sdp?real_stream

SUBSTREAM
rtsp://10.6.10.25/user=User&password=Password&channel=1&stream=1.sdp?real_stream--rtp-caching=100

Snapshot Image (substream) - doesnt require auth!

Also try onvier from the app store to get more info via onvif protocol.
