Hi Guys

Okay, so im at my aunts house and she recently was connected to a fibre cabinet ..... all is good except for this

So say I run a speedtest or download, its will shoot up to about 8.2-8.6mbs, but then halfway it just drops, and carries on going till about 2mb? I dont understand?
This happens when downloading a file or something 2 :(

Which ISP is she using? Trying switching account and see if that helps.

Also what are the line stats like?

Stats:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10015 kbps 1023 kbps
Line Attenuation 14.5 db 7.1 db
Noise Margin 10.4 db 12.7 db

Mweb Uncapped, I dont think we can try another account, we dont have any other prepaid etc, I do have mine but it is in use at home , no concurrent connections allowed

Sounds like bursting to me...

I don't suppose it needs to be asked whether you're running a 10meg account on your 10meg line, does it?

I have no idea

It's a rather important element of the equation, no? I have a 4meg account on a 10meg line and any download or speedtest also spikes initially before settling on something close to maximum account speed. Perhaps you should find out? :p

It sounds to me like a 4Mbps MWEB uncapped account on a 10Mbps ADSL connection...
