Just bought a CBR1000RR 2007

Hell, if I could get Skoob to agree I would take the 900 myself if it was an option but she says that I first need to take out a R25 mil life insurance package... LOL

On a quad and a 3 wheeler yes, when I was in primary school, but I won't call it bad ;) I live in Mpumalanga and we've got the Paradise Rally once a year where bikers from across S.A come for a weekend to Graskop to drink and race in the streets.

This may sound as if I'm bikers to be stupid, but I'm not, each and every year at the very least 3 people die in biking accidents between Whiteriver, Sabie, Lydenburg and Graskop, so yes, it's very dangerous if you don't have respect for your bike or own safety ;)
 
Mine was not that big but damn sore

I was riding my SV (V-twin) down the Brits road from Pretoria on my way to Hartebeespoort. There is a Garage where you turn left in to go towards the dam (Close to the Rally spot). Anyway as I was gearing down and the bike died.

Not a biggy as I will just chuck it into gear and it will start again.

2 problems

1. I did it while on a turn going into the garage about 60 km/h
2. It's a V-Twin. The back compression is very nasty on a run start

I was Highsided in the turn trown about 4 meters into the air and fell hard on the Driveway. Only hurt my index finger on the landing and a couple of nasty muscle pains.

The worst was the fact that it happened infront of about 20 people :D

2 year back at the Paradise there was 4 accidents in the main road leading up to the Gate of the resort. There where we do our Whelees and things. All 4 accident happend in about 10 minutes = 6 people dead :(

Since then they now Barricade the 2 directions to prevent headons. Also alot of people lose it down the steep mountain passes while driving to Grasskop.

Yip, it's sad really, I've got this little fact in my mind, most of these bikers are really quite successful people, doctors, engineers and the like and it's sad to see professional people lose it because they're not thinking straight.

I haven't been to the Paradise in about 2 years time, but I hear about it and they really need to bring the awareness out about safety ;)

So very true.

I don't drink when I go riding. Maybe a beer or 2 if I'm thirsty. The problem is you have these guys there that is so pissed they can't stand and then still want to do all funny things :eek:

But I have decided not to take part in the Main road things no more as I might be doing one thing right and some one else messes into me or I slip up and take out some other people. I still enjoy the vibe. The party tents, the chicks and the nice bikes. But the Main road is not my thing no more
 
That's cool, you have to think about what's best, you've mentioned you have a wife and he'd think she'd be very sad if you k.o'd, so be safe ;) :D :p

Btw. how hard is it to learn how to drive a bike? Thinking of getting myself a 125 or something.
