Just bought a CBR1000RR 2007

That's cool, you have to think about what's best, you've mentioned you have a wife and he'd think she'd be very sad if you k.o'd, so be safe ;) :D :p

Btw. how hard is it to learn how to drive a bike? Thinking of getting myself a 125 or something.

If you can drive a car you can ride a bike.

The only thing that needs getting used to is the clutch being on the left and selecting gears while pulling and releasing the clutch while at the same time regulating the throttle. You get the hang of it in about 5 tries if not first time :)

I called outsurance for a quote on a 2007 R6 (the bike im thinking of getting), guess how much?

R2500p.m

I was like WTF?

When I got my 2007 CBR600 I called them just for a giggle - they quoted me something similarly insane - and I'm 30. The consultant just flat told me that superbikes have super premiums.

Insurance companies see them as short term high risk items. The way most people ride and with little to no gear, I honestly am not surprised that they came to that conclusion.

so what did you end up doing? do you have insurance?

Yeah, but I'm looking to switch ... the excess on the current one adds up fast depending on circumstances, and it doesn't include gear.

I'm looking at http://www.apexsa.co.za/ for a switch

Damn it

I wish I could upload pictures of the bike now :o

Had some nice work done to it, and a nice Yoshi pipe.... But my laptop died :(
I need to find a way to put the picture from my phone on to this work PC :)

Don't matter how fugly it is... It's a ZX-14! Hmmmm... I see the 1000's are getting quite close in the power department these days.

I have to agree with you that the ZX14 is a MONSTER !

Little bit out of my league though :D

On the CBR I do 250 very easy. Can clock 300 but won't go that route again  I wonder what the top speed on the ZX14 is though /Google

Kawasaki’s just announced ZX14 company flagship boasts 1400cc, much slipperier aerodynamics and the most horsepower and highest top speed of any production motorcycle EVER! The publicity conscious Kawasaki is keeping mum on the exact figures but the rumours emanating from Japan indicate we are just about to see the world’s first 200bhp production motorcycle. Full details inside.

 here

HOLY SHYT !

As my dad would say, the ZX14 is a coffin on wheels. Must feel awesome sitting on that thing at full throttle though!

Hehehe Any idea what your CBR's pushing with the yoshi? Must be quite quick now...as if it wasn't before ;)
I'd actually love to be taken for a spin on a bike like that. I don't trust myself with THAT much horse, so I'd prefer not to be the one doing the driving. Too bad nobody I know has anything NEAR a litre bike.
