Just finished Diablo 2

My Assassin is focussed primarily on Martial Arts, secondary set is Shadow disciplines. Most my points are in Blades of Ice and Dragon Claw, buffed up Shadow Warrior and Claw Mastery. I generally choose jewelry or equipment that buffs dexterity and Attack Rating. crafted most of my own weaponry with gems, getting 102-148/35-99 (dual claws) on a hit.
Lore Helm, yay for runewords :) Right now my prize possession is Sanders Riprap, gunning to complete that set.
 
One of the biggest reasons that I adore D2 so much:

Offline chars:

- Zealadin (lvl 86)
- Stormceress (lvl 80)
- Bowazon (lvl 60)
- Were-druid (lvl 82)
- Kickersin (lvl 56)
- Javazon (lvl 48)

Online:
- Hammerdin (lvl 50)
- Whirly-barb (lvl 40)
- Mauler (lvl 22)
- Ice/fire sorc (lvl 30)

Those are the ones I can recall. I have 2 necro's and a few other chars floating around too, that will never see Hell difficulty :-(
 
Just got Phoenix Strike :) Drinks mana like a thirsty camel, but oooh I love it!
 
You are not done with D2 unless you finish the game with a "Hardcore" char.

I lost about 100 of them already. Cant get past flyer jungle...

Don't go into them if you are not prepared, they are generally 20/30 levels or or so higher than you if you enter them the first time you see an entrance. Read the forum and read the manual, there is a boatload of information you need to know.

It is brilliant.

Is there an SA server for Medianxl?
 
My main character include:

92 Pure Lightning Sorc. (EU official)
92 Zealot Paladin (Single player)
91 Wind Druid (Twilight server)
Various other character sub 90 character including a Poisonmancer, Gold find barb, Skelliemancer etc etc. (All over the place)

And tbh your only done with D2 once you've defeated the Uber Tristram :D

EDIT: A MedianXL SA server would be AWESOME for the record :D
 
unfortunately for the single player gamers - uber tristram is out of reach ( if you don't use mods)
- as well as copious online only runewords and uniques

Highly recommend playing on the local D2 server twilight (http://forum.twilightgaming.co.za/index.php?/forum/8-diablo-2/?) - and team up with some locals ^^
you could get a generous high lvl char willing to take you straight to hell difficulty within 1 hour

This game - like alot of others REALLY comes alive when you party up

Seeing that you are playing an assasin ,one of my fab favs ;) you should try respeccing and trying a trapsin - one of the few chars that can solo hell with magic find items only - and able to kill very fast (lightning sentry and death sentry = dead mobs)
 
I was thinking of a respec, but to be honest, I'm bored silly with the dang Assassin. I loaded D2 up on my home PC (until now its on my old laptop) and hopped onto the Euro server. Whole new plethora of stuff to learn (what the hell is a mule?).
I'm busy trying to round up my buddies for a lan, but it's tough. Maybe I'll check out the Twilight server...
 
A Mule is a character you create with only one purpose, to carry items for your main characters, use them for extra stash.

PlugY helps with infinite stash and also allows easy respecs, only for single player and open b.net games though.
 
I spent some time on bnet now, but I found it way too impersonal, keen to look into the twilight stuff, but even there, I'm more aiming at finding a group of players to get together for a couple of hours on a Sunday and bash evil things more than this random hopin/hopout stuff.
(Maybe my future brothers in law with will get copies of D2 for Christmas ;) )
 
Never played this on an internet server, always with me hosting and friends joining. Gonna try out the local Twilight server...
 
EU is fun - but the lag is what killed it for me, you cant teleport properly with a constant 300-500 ping

and yeah .. muling is bound to be the first online trick u need to learn , just so much stuff drops that need to be kept for later
just remember to make private games when you mule or you might end up getting usefull stuff nicked

Just to pique your interest a tad more - get to hell - so you can start hunting Keys from countess/summoner/nihlathak
they are very stingy so u need to kill them a fair few times
after following a very interesting quest line - you get to fight all 3 prime evils at the same time ! (please note - the normal versions of baal/diablo/mephisto are considered weak - so they got given some xtra spells to play with ;) as well as a bevy of friends just to spice things up)
after defeating all 3 - u get the hellfire torch which has some VERY nice stats indeed

Taking them on solo is NOT recommended

I bought the Battle Chest YEARS ago & I still have it at home. When I go home in December I think I am going to dust it off & bring it back to JHB with me.

I made a Blizzard Sorceress that feared nobody! Those were the days man. I think I will give it a run again before D3 comes out. I can't remember the server I used to play on though.
 
A buddy got me a Deaths Fathom the other day ^^ so I am busy playing my Blizz sorc at the moment as well !
Now just need Night Wings Veil and a blizz Ormus, and a couple of Stones of Jordon or Bul Kathos rings, and she is done .... easy , no problem .... yeah right! xD

For those guys who have never ended up in Hell difficulty yet ... the whole game is geared for that difficulty - and all the items worth getting can ONLY be found there - they simply cannot drop in normal or nightmare
