Hey everyone
Seems like a grand time to hijack this thread...
If you want the easiest character to beat the entire game, through all difficulties... Build a skelliemancer (also known as a fishymancer). I use PlugY (for the awesome runewords and the Uber quests) and ATMA (all items have been personally found by me. I haven't duped anything). Just to let you know how easy this character is; I finished the whole of Act1 on Hell difficulty on /players 8 without getting hit once - no exaggeration. Corpse explosion is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best spell in the entire game. It can clear a room full of nasties in less than seconds - It unfortunately suffers a "penalty" when used on /players 8, but even then, it is STILL the best spell in the game. This character also owns PvP... But you WILL need the "enigma" runeword and have had the time/opportunity to raise your army. It's nearly impossible to get beaten. This is what I do when we LAN and PvP:
1. Farm your skellies
2. Go to the Burning River and raise loads of Gorebelly's. These guys have crushing blow, all 20 of them.
3. Engage your opponent, but maintain a safe distance. If he's melee, use Iron Maiden; If he's a ranged hero/spellcaster, use decrepify.
4. Teleport right on top of him
5. Stand there
6. Watch him die... FAST!
7. This works great if he's a melee hero, because when you teleport, so does your whole army. With Iron Maiden on, there's a 1/36 chance he'll actually hit you, and a 35/36 chance he's hit one of your minions, and die from IM.
The Ubers are possible to solo, but only with a Paladin. This is what you will need:
1. You'll need conviction aura on at all times and it MUST be above level 20, otherwise it is "overridden" by UberMeph's conviction aura, and you'll die... very fast.
2. It is also necessary to have the runeword, "Last Wish" equipped. The chance to cast life tap is absolutely vital.
3. You can only use smite (only need it on level 1 - any higher level is a waste of skill points). The reason smite is used is that it effectively overrides your "chance to hit" and you will always hit
4. You'll need loads of crushing blow - This completely ignores hitpoints and deals a percentage of current life (much like static field). I do believe Last Wish has a chance of crushing blow as well as Gorerider Boots. There's a lot of other items - Just check them out.
Can't wait for D3!!
EDIT: Oh I forgot to mention. My fishymancer is a hardcore character. Albeit in single player, I haven't died once; not even close, considering I never actually get hit.
