Hi everyone..

I wanna ask, is there anyone experience DISCONNECT continously since saturday night?

Saturday morning was all good, but when I tried at night again, it recieves until like 2mb max, it disconnect, then I tried and tried...
It still doing the same, it disconnect after I connect...

Anyone having the same problem?

I'm situated in PTA...

Thanks.

Good question, would be interesting to know what the problem is. I've had the same problem since yesterday morning, I'm in Cape Town.

On the other thread, it was mentioned that they were preforming maintance on Friday night, and something went wrong.

Hopefully it gets fixed today, though I'm not holding my breathe.

During training (proly an one hour session) - someone forgot to tell them where the reset switch was. So everyone was going through their 'past year' notes this weekend in vain.

So we all have to suffer :(

Nobody knows my friend, they are all waiting for Monday - like I said in another thread there's no technical support over weekends.

The service is, as it stands @ the mo, only good from light browsing and banking.

I just called the Call centre, asked them if no technical support was completed over weekends, was informed that there was an issue, and that people are still working on it, and that there was an update sent to them 2 hours ago that the problem is still occuring.

Support Consultant could not tell me ETA of the fix.

So yes, looks like its not getting done anytime soon.

Just Seems Neotel is getting worse and worse, Speed issues, now disconnections.

I just hope people look at the forums before signing up, and think they will be fine.. but find out they are not.

And like I said yesterday, they are reading from their weekend formulated scripts. I also called three times yesterday and was told on the same lines as you i.e. 2 hours, blah; blah; blah.

I too was all for Neotel, being the new company and better competition for Telkom, give them a chance, etc, etc, etc. I actually gave up this weekend, if one's infra-structure is not up to mark - we all stuffed

I agree with you 100%

I'm in PTA , like everyone else same **** since around 11AM Saturday....

Calling up technical support is pointless so I suppose we'll all wait until Monday before some "techie" pulls his thumb out of his pooper and wakes up. Too much to ask but who knows, maybe we're lucky and by April sometime Tata sends over more funds and they can afford some decent "techies" who can actually do the job.

Or maybe they're all still chowing down on roti's and chicken masala and they just forgot about us...

Rant over (i think).

@ Neotel

Do you know your service is really poor
Do you know your network is not a 1st world network!!

I am tired of you telling me things about your network that is not true!!!

My phone just had another crash (black screen) so I'm guessing they did another network update. Went through the chore of disconnecting the phone and removing the battery but unfortunately the disconnect problem isn't fixed yet.

I've been ranting from yesterday morning...I've never been this upset for so long

Yep, same shocking service received in Randburg once again.

See my post http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=160309&page=3

Guys, the same issues have been going on for the last 10 months (yes, read my lips.....10 months...ever since I joined Neotel).
So, the following applies:
1. Lack of planning from Neotel's side does NOT constitute an emergency from my side.
2. The height of stupidity is defined as "persisting in doing things in exactly the same way but expecting a different result/outcome".

The question one has to ask is what has changed for the better for us Neotel consumers over the last 10 months?
Answer: Absolutely nothing!!!! -
Neotel is still operating in the same inefficient and unprofessional way, the network is less stable than ever before, the communication between the techs and the call centre appears to be nonexistent, etc, etc, etc (I'm starting to sound like a stuck record).

So, if you, like me, have been subjected to this "nothing" experience for so long with no end in sight, then why are we all persisting in accepting this "pain with no gain" scenario?

For me, I have had enough and am moving my business elsewhere.

It will be interesting to see how many of the regulars on this forum will still be bitching over receiving "nothing" in the months to come - guys, do yourselves (and Neotel or is it NeosTelth) a favour and vote with your feet. Maybe this way the penny will drop in a few months time for Neotel that their business practices are unacceptable ones and they will then do something about it.

I'd just refreshed this page while on dobroadband's page (Telkom's internet site). I'm also seriously thinking of cancelling, I mean with an added R 500 I can get uncapped 512k through Openweb & the connection would be stable.

I agree, now you will unfortunately have to experience the frustration of trying to cancel your contract with Neotel. Just persevere, it’s worth it

Also getting some disconnects here in Somerset West this afternoon - was not online since Friday night so do not know when it started !!!

Thinks its a good excuse to go cycle a bit - take my new MTB for another spin :)

I have been having the same problem in Midrand since early Saturday.

:mad:disconnect every two minutes or 4mb, whichever comes first. dont do anything on the line and it stays up forever. go figure:mad:

OK, I'm p1ssed off too, ever since yesterday NEOTEL just disconnects...I'm trying to download an 800mb file and its only gone 10%. I haven't used up like more then half of my cap, WTF. Where's the NEOTEL REP GUY????
